Developing Learning Content for your Mobile, Pt. 1

Developing Learning Content for your Mobile, Pt. 1If you are a learning content author considering developing material for mobile devices (iPhone anyone?), there are a few things to keep in mind during the pre-production phase.

For instance, limiting the graphics on your learning content, if only because of the screen size of your mobile device, which will be at least a dozen times smaller than the screen on your desktop. Give priority to hyperlinks (essential), text (even more essential), and other material of higher value than graphics.

As we’re avoiding fluff, apply this principle to the text of your learning content: keep it brief and concise. Try to keep your readers from having to scroll back and forth, too—smaller fonts help here, as well as dividing text up into sections and linking to these sections, rather than presenting everything at once.
